  • And on the exercise front?

    Nothing. Zip. Nada.

I did email the FF manager and call him some rude names, the website boasts to offer 'comprehensive post course support' of which I have had none! Don't get me wrong, I have deffo benefited from FF, but the extra encouragement along the way would've helped me hugely.

Anyway, I got an email apologising, advising of toothing probs, and that he'd try to fix the problem. And a throwaway 'how's the exercise and eating going?'

Well, I've sent him back a long email, not much of it makes sense, but he's not just taking my money and running. I paid for the support too!

Fingers crossed I make it to the gym tomorrow, it depends how well I sleep I guess.

    Goodnight

  • The last 5 days...

Have been pretty exercise free. I'm guilty of being lazy, and my back pain has been the perfect excuse. I swam on wednesday and thursday morning, 12 lengths each time. I was hoping to go back to the treadmill this morning, but elected to spend the time sleeping off my alcohol intake from last night!

Food wise? I've not been awful, but I've not been grand either. I don't eat anywhere near the amount I used to, but someone brought biscuits to work this week and I've had a few - it wasn't my fault though, the cookie jar as been moved up to my end of the office after mean girls moved it away from where they sat (well they are trying to be healthy too) so I'm constantly faced with temptation.

I've not had more than 4 cookies in one day mind. Yesterday I had a crunchie at work too, as I knew I was going out and would be eating a junk food dinner. I had chicken & mushroom pie and chips to 'line' my stomach from the effects of alcohol. Ah well. you gotta live.

I weighed in at the gym yesterday - disappointed to see I was 12 st 4. But i had been for a swim first which may have made me heavier. My body fat on the other hand has dropped a couple percent since fitfarms so I'm doing ok.

I've not bought new work clothes (except one pair of trousers) as I'm scared I'll jinx myself, and it feels nice wearing clothes which I've grown too small for, it's a rare enough occurunce so i'm gonna milk it!

  • Exercise free weekend

My back has been hurting, nothing unusual as I tend to pull my back from time to time... I'm a bit worried coz sometimes it turns into sciatica, which is a pain up the butt!

At least I'm attying about much less weight now that I've lost a bit.

  • OOOps

I overdid it yesterday. I've managed to hurt myself. My backs giving me gyp so I'll have to be just swimming for a while. Hubby has now banned me from the exercise bikes!

  • 4 outta 5's not bad...

is how often I've been to the gym this week. Well, actually 5 times if you count my double whammy on Tuesday. I'm quite impressed with myself. Today I was a bit too late to get to my treadmill (there's only 4 there) so I ended up on the bicycle.

I put it on to a hilly cycle for 20 minutes, and pedalled my heart out. I managed 7.4kms in that time. I got home and didn't feel like I'd worked out at all, so I did a load of situps til I was very, very warm.

I've eaten healthy all day, but had a bit of a blow out for dinner - curry. Yum!

  • Bloated!

I overslept this morning, woke at 6.40 and actually got my self in gear to be at the gym before 7.10!

20 minutes and 2.8kms later I was knackered and homeward bound. I weighed myself at the gym and this is the weight I'm going to adapt as my own now.

    Drum roll.......

TWELVE STONE!!! That means I only have 7lbs to lose between now and November to get to my target weight. I can see that will change as the months roll by, to being 11st. I need to find a way to address my body issues!

I ate healthy all day but met up with a friend this evening, 2 bottles of Bulmers later and a huge (sausage, egg, mushroom and bacon) burger and chips later I stormed home in 20 minutes which was pretty cool as multimap reckons it should be a 27 minute walk.

Bloated and tired but very relaxed after a good night.

Hopefully I'll wake early enough to get to the gym tomorrow! It's Friday too! The weekends here.

Still if I can get to 11.5 stone - how cool!

  • Today has been...

A good day all round so I'm happy.
I: walked 1km on the treadmill in 10 minutes.
completed Abs toner session (15 minutes)
cycled up and down hills for 2.5kms.
reduced my sandwich size and had a nice walk in the sunshine at lunch.
    went to Aquarobics.

So, basically I survived the day. I am happy in the knowledge that I have exercised, that I CAN exercise and that I enjoy a variety of exercises. I also am happy with the knowledge that I can eat what I want, just in smaller portions or say 'no' if I want.

I will get myself to a healthy size in a sensible time frame and in the process I will find new interests for myself and hopefully new friends along the way.

And the chorus of this song basically sums me up!

  • I must be crazeeeee.

  • Pre - Breakfast suggestions?

I made it to the gym today. Hallelujah! I ate half a banana before I went, and I don't think it did me any favours. At the gym I got going fairly quickly and was at a comfy pace 9.2kph and was coming up for 10 minutes of running, then I started to feel a bit nauseous. And before you ask, no, I am definitely not pregnant.

I slowed down to a walk but suddenly felt real queasy so stopped only (about) 1.4kms in and rushed to the loo. Thankfully it passed, but I was quite shaken. I went back on the treadmill at a much slower pace, practically a quick walk and managed to slowly complete 1.1 kms so almost my usual distance, just much slower.

Then I gave myself 10 minutes in the swimming pool. The pool is 33 metres and I managed 6 lengths in that time. Not brilliant but not bad either. So, yeah headed home again for a herbal tea and a bowl of cereal with yogurt.

Lunch time I only had half my ham salad sandwich - I crammed it full of salad. By 4pm I was hungry again, so I ate some cashews and a couple dried apricots. I've been fairly good. Shame my waist appears to be on the increase again!

So, can anyone recommend how much I can eat before going for a workout? At FF we were given a glass of juice, but I still managed to pass out one day on that. And is there anything with bananas that makes you more likely to barf?

Hmmm, lets hope I make it down there tomorrow again.

  • Thursday, Friday & Saturday

I've not been to the gym since Wednesday, we went for curry Wednesday night and I ate quite a bit. It rained Thursday morning, so I thought 'one day' wouldn't make a difference. WRONG! Thursday I felt sluggish and bloated. Definitely an effect of eating more than my body needed.

Thursday night I was knackered, but I cooked a healthy dinner, more than 50% vegetables, and only a weeny bit of rice. I polished off a third of a bottle of wine.

Friday morning I had a slight headache, drank lots of water before work. I wasn't bad throughout the day, sluggishness had disappeared. Not sure why I didn't gym on Friday, but I do find it discouraging knowing a work colleague is there at the same time. I thought it'd be motivating. Darn!

Friday night, too lazy to cook, we ordered pizza - I had a small one and no starter, so not too bad. Did feel very full, but also felt sleepy. I seem to have less energy the days I don't gym. Another reason to go! We went out, and I only had one glass of wine, glad to see I can either take or leave the wine.

Today I really meant to get some exercise in. I guess its still not too late, but not very likely. The weather forecast was bad so I had intended to do lots of energetic housework, but it was nice. So I walked into town and had a huge slice of cake in a cafe.

The cake was too much, but I ate it all coz I'd paid. I think that's my downfall, at home I can stop but if I've paid for food I can't. Anyway, I got home at about 12 and wasn't hungry (cake bloat) and then fell asleep through lunch time til nearly 4pm.

I woke tired and tetchy, I think the lack of food was the problem. Immediately had an oatcake and a banana but I guess I'd thrown my body outta sync. It's got used to regular feeds. We had a healthy pasta dinner, lots of veg and not much cheese, but I don't feel full. Craving sweet, I know we have lots of sweet, and I'm thinking about more wine.

Might persuade hubby to come for a walk later. Hmmm.

At least I know now that taking a 'days' break from the gym is not wise coz. So, tomorrow I must go, although I'm not positive I will. Monday morning I'll definitely be back on the treadmill.

It's one month past FitFarms, if I could get the time off work I'd be back like a shot, shame I can't. I don't know how long I can be disciplined. I need to up my exercises as portion control alone won't get me where I wanna get to.

Still, at least I won't go back up for a while. I hope!

  • Wednesday

I got up late today, wasn't sure if I fancied bumping into work colleague at gym, sometimes its easier exercising anonymously. I find. Anyway, decided I'd go for a swim instead. Bit bored of my mate Tread Mill now!

I managed 14 lengths in 20 minutes which is good for me, but it was weird not having a monitor of how far I'd swum/time/speed/calories! Eaten quite well, cut back my 'mid' snacks so i'm eating less, and had a Miso Soup this evening whilst I wait to go out for curry.

    Yummy.

Bought chocolate today from the shop but it's still in the bag. I'm so good!

  • Monday 9th June

    Today I...

    Woke at 6.30am,
Was at the gym for 7am,
Ran 2.5 kms in 16 minutes RESULT ;D
Burnt 200 calories in that time (rubbish)
Ate muesli, yogurt and fruit for breakfast
Had a chicken salad sandwich for lunch and a diddy bowl of icecream (three tablespoons worth)
Dined on 2 BBQ'd sausages, one brown roll, one cob of corn, 3 mushrooms and a pepper.

Good going. The scales at the gym were wrong. Very wrong. They said I'm 12st 3 which isnt possible! Far too light as I also had my chunky trainers on.

I've learnt so much control with my eating habits, it amazes me how much I used to eat unnecessarily! My downside will be when we have people round for BBQ as traditionally I'll have (across 4 hours) maybe 3 burgers, ,3 sausages and two bits of chicken, not to mention vegables, breadsticks and crisps. The next few months should be interesting.

  • Saturday & Sunday

Well, this weekend my sum total of exercise is: NONE - well not at an intensity that gets my body working hard. I've done several little or slow walks and stuff but no toning or real exercise.

Food wise, I've not done too well either, half a tub of Ben & Jerry's ice cream on Friday, half a bottle of Jacques last night, but reasonable portion control still. I've been comfort eating, made hubby a chocolate cake which wasn't actually that nice, but I still wolfed down two slices. I've also eaten a load of Maltesers but they're sposed to be pretty low calorie.

I'm bored of healthy eating right now. I just wanna be slimmer. I wish i could afford another week at fitfarms. How cool would that be! It was one month ago today that I was doing all my last minute packing, so I've been back 3 weeks already. It really is time to step up the exercise. I hope.

  • Thursday 5th & Friday 6th June

Well, yesterday I ate well all day, and then finished the evening with half a tub of Ben & Jerry's icecream. Oh well! It was worth it. Yum. I made it to the gym yesterday morning, I managed to get upto 10kph and felt quite comfortable jogging, but then my asthma decided to kick in, and my breathing started to get ragged, so I slowed to a fast walk to recover.

Sadly that was the beginning of the end, only managed about 9 minutes in total on the treadmill, and was totally out of breath. I used some of the resistance machines to make my time up and walked home briskly. Not really the same. I struggled for breath at work as well so I must make sure I take my puffer before hand in future, but I think it's coz I'm getting a cold as much as anything.

This morning I measured my waist, and whilst it hasn't got any smaller it also hasn't gotten bigger so that's a start. I've been going through a period of feeling demoralised, and lazy, and comfort eating (although nothing to match my previous eating levels) but I am determined I will lose weight eventually. I'm running out of time though, this month is running away and before I know it November will arrive.

There's talk of a Fitfarms roadshow in London soonish, (the trainers coming up and getting us to do some crazy exercise over two days) it would be good to see everyone and get spurred on again, but it all depends on the cost as I've still got the bulk of the original week to pay for.

No gym this morning, I used the extra time to sleep. Needed it. I didn't even wake up all night until about 6.30am! I had two bowls of honey nut cornflakes which was as nice as I remember but not as filling.

Ham salad sandwich for lunch, lots of fruit and a funsize pack of millkyway stars, and then dinner was a yummy burger from our local pub and a bottle of Bulmers. I left the last few mouthfuls of the burger and some chips as I was too full, but that was nearly two hours ago and I'm still bloated. I can really feel the difference - I'm dehydrated and knackered today.

Still, it's the weekend so with a bit of luck I'll get to the gym tomorrow or Sunday. I need to do something anyway!

  • Wednesday 4th June - Motivation required

So, since Monday I've barely done any exercise, I feel fat and disheartened but my intentions are good. I'm hoping to get myself to the gym tomorrow morning.

I'm eating more salad/vegetables and haven't had a full scale binge yet. Tempted though. Sorely tempted. I keep baking nice things for hubby. He's been so good keeping healthy.

Has anyone got any motivational tips to keep me exercising? I'm starting to plan our 2009 'summer' holiday so getting into a bikini would be groovy, but it's not enough alone. Help!

  • Monday 2nd June 2008

So, the weekend I did bugger all exercise really. Didn't eat too bad or too good. Today I had some nuts and apricots and a glass of OJ first thing, then I made it to the gym for 7am.

I did 2.4 miles in 16 minutes with an average speed of 8.
I jogged a lot and was more comfortable doing it. I tried the cross trainer. I hate them. They are just awkward. And right outside the office of the gym instructor. Yuk...

So, I haven't weighed myself, I don't think its beneficial to do it from day to day. I had a slice of toast and peanut butter for breakkie, a cheese salad sarnie for lunch, a banana and 3 oatcakes for mid morn/afternoon snacks and

a handful of chips, 2 mushrooms, a chicken grill steak, and some small lamb burgers for tea. Not much in the healthy category there (all high satiety, low nutritional value) but tasty. And I feel full.

So, hopefully to the pool to swim tomorrow morning. If I get up early enough.

This exercise malarkey is becoming a bad habit! As I was leaving work today I thought 'oh, might go the gym' is that sad to be contemplating to visits in a day?

Help. I'm turning into a fitness freak!
