This morning I decided to stay in bed in a grumpy mood until I was woken by the shrill tones of our new house phone. It was too late to get to the gym by that point and I had no energy anyway.
Made myself a bowl of porridge with loads of raisins and then got ready for work. Yesterday and today at work there's been lots of junk food available, so I've been struggling, I had 5 strawberries from a table laden with chocolates and biscuits, and didn't have any pudding last night.
Saying that we had Indian at the curry house on Sunday night, I had two glasses of wine, naan bread + a pudding with my curry.
But it was tasty.
So, anyway, today I succumbed to a handful of Maltesers (after lunch) and later 3 bits of proper Turkish delight. I felt so ill after that! But to make up for it I decided to go to the gym.
I'm actually quite gutted, as I've noticed that my some of my new clothes are starting to feel a wee bit tight, and I've only slacked off a bit, so as demotivated as I was, I now know I must maintain minimum of 3 gym visits a week.
So, today I came home from work and packed my rucksack and off I went to the gym. I was quite good, I set the treadmill for 30 minutes and in that time managed to run/walk 4kms. Not my best distance, but I tried to vary the slope, as I ran out of steam I walked up a steeper slope and when I could run I eased off the slope.
I've no idea if it's better to run or walk fast but I like keeping the distance up, and walking means a shorter distance. Must get some clarification on this...
Hubby and I are both going to try to cook more vegetables with dinner, and I really must get back into snacking on fruit and nuts instead of cakes (all be it home made ones). I'm also going to take it easy on the alcohol this weekend, we're out tomorrow night, to the friends house where i usually get totally wasted, but pa-in-law is due over Saturday morning to fit our new bathroom suite, so there'll be no water during the day, no toilet bowl, and lots of noise. So I'll be heading to the gym for my shower after a good workout over the weekend. And next week I hope to be back using our bathroom again.
Must do sit-ups some time soon. Belly heading south and only one month til the birthday (30 is apparently when your metabolism drops off, and your muscle starts to decrease so I'll be doing some weight training then to counteract this).
