Just a short post today to update, I've got to leave in about 5 minutes for work!
This week I have been particularly crap at getting up, or down to the gym. I made it Monday morning and did a bit of cardio and some sit-ups, we tried out hubby's weights again Monday evening and I overdid it showing off.
Then this morning (after a lovely curry out last night with hubby) I took myself back to the gym. I was running late as usual, so I was in a hurry. I completed a warm up on the bike, then rowed 1000m's in 4m 48 which wasn't too bad. I moved on to the treadmill and set up my usual uphill/dowhill run for 20 minutes. I covered 2.7kms in total and broke a sweat several times. I didn't go to my top speed as I didn't feel capable.
Then back onto the bike for a cool down and lastly some stretches before heading home. Anyway, the reason behind my post title? I realised as I left the gym that: yes, i felt energised, but no I certainly did not feel as though I had tested my body in any way. I have grown comfy in my routine and have not been pushing myself nearly enough! And then I wonder WHY I'm not losing any weight!
So, it's made me think. I know my junk food consumption needs reducing, but I now know I need to rethink my 'training' plan and maybe seek one of those 'on-line trainer' sites to give me more of an idea what I should be doing. I'd ask the people at the gym, but they don't seem to be bothered with what I want to achieve or the time I have.
Does anyone know a good website?
I've a busy bank holiday weekend, but nothing on for Easter Sunday so I'm going to go for a real long work out, and thankfully my verucca is almost gone, so I might even have a swim too! Knowing my luck though, my period will arrive Sunday morning! Grrr. I'm all out of sync now to how I was.
Hope you all have a fun and relaxing long weekend. You certainly deserve it!
Big hugs and Happy Easter!
